Show You Care

The Show You Care program is a simple and impactful way for horse show managers to support the Equestrian Aid Foundation’s mission of helping critically ill and injured horse people—from riders and grooms to judges and ground crew: the very people who populate your show grounds day after day.

How It Works
Show managers designate a warm-up or schooling class in the hunter and jumper divisions as a Show You Care class. A percentage of each entry fee (from 5 to 50 percent, it’s up to you) per designated class is donated to the Equestrian Aid Foundation at the end of the show. Because the Equestrian Aid Foundation is a 501(c)(3), donations are tax deductible.

Example: 100 riders enter a 1.10 Schooling Jumper class with an entry fee of $25. The show manager decides this class will be the jumper division’s Show You Care class, and 20 percent of each entry fee ($5.00 x 100 = $500) will be given to the Equestrian Aid Foundation.

Promoting Your Support
Caring about seriously injured or ill members of the equestrian community is a great message for show managers to send, and the Equestrian Aid Foundation will promote your support in the press, on the web and in our social media.

Lapel Ribbons
Upon completing their warm-up or schooling round, competitors in Show You Care classes receive a green lapel ribbon (provided by the Equestrian Aid Foundation).

Riders will be encouraged to wear their ribbons throughout the show and share their photos on social media (hashtags #ShowYouCare and #EquestrianAidFoundation). The Equestrian Aid Foundation will award a prize to the participant with the best hash-tagged picture each month.

Co-Branding Show You Care Classes
The Equestrian Aid Foundation will provide:

  • A brief overview of the Show You Care program for your prize list.
  • A short script for the show announcer to read throughout the week, to let exhibitors know which classes are the Show You Care classes and who they benefit.
  • Banners for the show rings Show You Care classes are held in.

At the End of the Horse Show
The show manager’s only responsibility is to mail a tax-deductible donation the Equestrian Aid Foundation for the determined percentage of entry fees from the Show You Care classes.
